TLDR: Sleep as a Business Asset

Short sleep does not stay confined to the bedroom. It blunts judgement, skews risk appetite, shortens the fuse, and quietly erodes memory — and for a business owner, all four show up directly in the business, as snap decisions, avoidable friction with staff, and the same decision being relitigated for weeks without ever being made.

Owners sleep badly for reasons specific to the role: being the last one thinking about the business at night, a phone in the bedroom, cash-flow rumination, and a drink used to wind down. A fixed wake time, a written shutdown routine that empties open loops onto paper, sensible light and caffeine timing, and one recurring honest conversation with a peer all help more than they sound like they should. The reward is a calmer, clearer head for the decisions that matter most — including the ones, like sorting out a Will or a shareholders’ agreement, that have been waiting far too long for a rested judgement to finally make them.

“Having seen John of Legacy Wills present at a property event, it was clear he had both the breadth of knowledge and experience and also the ability to make a very dry subject both understandable and engaging. That’s a tough call when talking about Wills, Trusts and death. John produced Wills and POA’s for myself and my wife in a timely, effective and reasonable manner. I have subsequently recommended him to numerous colleagues and friends to cut out the jargon and challenges surrounding this critical protection, which is too often deferred or neglected.”
